Marc serves the best sushi in all of Illinois. In fact, coast to coast, it is the best sushi I have EVER had (and continue to have). The portions are the largest I’ve ever had; the taste of the various sushi and sashimi is amazing; and Marc makes the food at the counter for all to see. He is very personable and his staff is very friendly. Must try!!!

I used to love this place so much. Went for lunch today and looked forward to having my faves. Couldn’t finish the miso as it was too salty, the sumai tasted off and when it was brought to the table the soy sauce spilled all over it, and my fried rice was cold. My husband said his sushi was good and we both loved the crab Rangoons. The atmosphere needs help. Our table was sticky and the plates were worn. I don’t know if I was imagining things but every bite tasted like it had dish detergent residue, especially my tea. The place overall is run down. Maybe it was an off day, but I noticed a customer greeted Marc and got no response. The waitress brought wrong orders to tables including ours. So bummed to have spent over $100 and not have enjoyed it like we used to.

Marc's is reeeaaal nice. I'm not talking about for Rockford. I'm talking coast to coast Marc's would be worth mentioning in any city USA. This kitchen is on point.

LITERALLY, the best sushi your going to find in the 815, don’t be scared by the location and appearance on the OUTSIDE of the building. The sushi is fresh, the service is amazing and the atmosphere is great!! Have a seat at the sushi bar make a friend and share some of your favorite bites. Grab a table of a more intimate dinner, I love this place and I will always come back.

Hey Everyone, This place is truly on my top 5 list now! I had such a great time with my friend and was wowed with the size of the rolls! We definitely came in with an empty stomach from the morning and so indulged in the explicit yumminess that jumped around on our my tastebuds. I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of their marinated seaweed and cucumber salad with tomatoes. We shared it and it was fun the way we were trying to scoop up the food with our injured hands. Jody was our amazing server who taught us about “inside out” which is the seaweed in the rolls is on the inside with the fish eggs on the outside! We learned something new, how nice! Marc was very busy behind the counter making rolls for his customers. His team worked in sync serving inside his packed place. It’s been a decade since I was there and I will return and bring someone new with me to enjoy the rolls and appetizers. We had the Vegas and California Roll along with the crab rangoon. The crab rangoon when biting into it was so enjoyable! The crunch on the edges was absolutely incredible!
